Franziska Urton
Coming from a background rich in classical music, Franziska fell in love with the violin at a very early age and started learning to play with fiery enthusiasm. Then at the age of 16 she travelled to South Africa and whilst there became involved with Irish traditional music (of course, where else would this happen!). After that she never looked back.
She learned more about the Irish music scene by travelling around Ireland for many months learning different styles of fiddle playing. On returning to Germany she started playing in many bands including Dán, with whom she still performs.
